About Megan...

          Megan is a dance artist interested in creating movement that is athletic, quirky, and confident. Her work has been presented at the North Carolina Dance Festival (2019), 5th Annual Richmond Dance Festival (2018) in Richmond, VA; American College Dance Association (2017) in Randolph, NJ; the Dorothy Hess Baker Theatre (2016) in Allentown, PA; and the Dorothy Jemison Day Theatre (2013) in Birmingham, AL. Currently Megan is creating her own work and performing with KT Collective in Durham, North Carolina. She also teaches Contemporary and Ballet at Barriskill Dance Theatre School and is completing the Advanced Teacher Training program through The Pilates Center at InsideOut Body Therapies.


          Megan's formal dance training began at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham, AL where she graduated with the Dance Achievement Award in 2013. While at ASFA Megan had the privilege to study modern dance with founding Mark Morris Dance Group member, Teri Weksler; ballet with David Keener and Martha Faesi; and perform works by Germaul Barnes. In 2017 she earned her B.A. Magna Cum Laude in both Dance Performance and French & Francophone Studies from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. While at Muhlenberg Megan choreographed four concert works including "To Meep Like a Peep" (2016) which was presented at American College Dance Association (2017) in Randolph, NJ; and studied ballet with Megan Flynn and Karen Dearborn and modern with Donald McKayle repetiteur, Randall Anthony Smith.
